Assembly Payments has launched a new Melbourne headquarters, aiming to grow its Melbourne headcount by over one third.
It follows the launch Assembly’s Sydney office last year and being recently named as one of LinkedIn’s Top Startups for Work. Assembly’s combined global headcount now sits at over 130 staff.
Moving office after outgrowing its Collingwood headquarters in just two years, Assembly Payments Melbourne team will now be based in the CBD, operating in a designated area of JustCo’s William Street Co-working Space.
JustCo is Asia’s leading premium co-working space provider and has close to 40 centres around the world, with 4 of them in Australia.
“There are benefits to being a large organisation operating out of a coworking space that we’re looking to capitalise on,” Simon Lee Co-founder & Co-CEO from Assembly Payments said.
“Co-working spaces take the hassle out of running an office so we can focus on further scaling the business, which will in turn scale our office size – meaning we can take up more space as we grow our team.”
“These spaces act as a hub for innovation, talent and events within the tech community. We have a dedicated office space within the JustCo complex but often use the common spaces as we don’t want to cut off our staff — and the business — from the diversity of thinking and learning opportunities in these spaces.”
“The startup community in Melbourne is incredibly powerful. We’ve seen major Australian companies set up satellite offices in coworking spaces for the exact same reason.”
JustCo’s Vice President and Head of Australia, Sheree McIntyre also emphasises coworking as the future of work for larger businesses, including ASX listed companies.
“We’re seeing the market shift from the traditional open-plan spaces largely affiliated with solo entrepreneurs and start-ups, to customised enterprise solutions for larger businesses seeking a private office with all the associated benefits of a global coworking community”
“We’re thrilled to support Assembly Payments’ growth plan and look forward to welcoming them to our expanding global network. JustCo acts as a launchpad for regional market expansion, guiding businesses to ease into local business ecosystems while growing a dense network.”
The news comes as Assembly Payments continues its growth and path towards a major global launch. The fintech hired two key executives in May to lead this new round of growth.
