Inspirational Aesthetic
What Kia Sing emphasises is that the little elements count. Wall colours and stylistic structures can inject energy into the space. These details create a sense of place within the office environment. Consider our new coworking space in Singapore on the ninth floor of Hong Leong Building, which takes its creative cues from the vibrant surroundings.
One standout feature is the arches inspired by the famous Lau Pa Sat market across the street, blending a piece of Singapore’s heritage into a modern coworking environment. Moreover, the use of black and white throughout the space recalls Singapore’s colonial past, referencing the famous Black and White buildings. They also serve as a visual metaphor for blending the past with the present. In the pantry, black-and-white tiles complete this cohesive design, adding a touch of tradition to a contemporary space.
“We’re in Raffles Place – a place of significant history, especially in Singapore’s commercial development,” explains Assistant Vice President of JustCo’s Workspace (Design) team and the Design Lead for JustCo Hong Leong Building, Cheney Ching. “The area has over a century of rich history, and we thought we’d pay homage to that.”
This mix of history and fresh design, paired with calming shades of green, makes the workspace deeply connected to its roots, creating an inspiring environment for employees.
And we’re not stopping here. You can find Tiong Bahru’s rich heritage reflected in the design elements of our Central Plaza coworking space, like the crimson-tiled table and chair set inspired by the older Housing Development Board void deck furniture. Similarly, our offices at 108 Robinson Road are outfitted to resemble the vibrant shophouses of Telok Ayer, offering a casual yet functional environment in the heart of the business district.
