The COVID-19 outbreak has brought upon unprecedented challenges and negative impact on Singapore’s economy – taking a toll on the livelihood of low-income households and seniors. To celebrate the spirit of giving, JustCo organised a fund-raising event through its JustCo Cares: Charity Run social responsibility campaign to extend greater care, support and financial relief for vulnerable communities who were impacted by COVID-19 – allowing anyone and everyone to participate for a good cause and give back to the society.

Held between 23 November to 7 December 2020, participants of this virtual charity run were encouraged to run a distant they are comfortable with, at their own pace, in their own time and make a donation of any amount. The JustCo Cares: Charity Run attracted more than 30 runners, raising close to a total of $3,000 for the Sayang Sayang Fund, which was set-up in February 2020 and has already helped over 136,000 vulnerable members of the community who were affected by COVID-19

This initiative follows the success of JustCo Cares: Mask Donation Drive, where 70,000 surgical masks were donated to 11 charities who were nominated by members and public. In addition, the Charity Run also forms part of JustCo’s annual Live.Better Festival, a week-long event featuring a series of lifestyle and wellness activities that advocates the importance of achieving work-life balance amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the lives of individuals and businesses in some way or another, and this year has indeed been a challenging one for us. As a home-grown Singapore company, we find this tough period an especially fitting time for us to help others who are in need. JustCo has always prioritised the well-being of our communities before us, by giving back and helping those in need. Although we are unable to physically gather for the our annual charity run, but I am heartened by the positive response and unwavering support garnered by the public, members and partners, says Brandon Chia, Vice President & Head, Singapore and Indonesia.

It is heart-warming to see corporates independently taking the initiative to rally their partners and contribute to the community in difficult and challenging times such as these. On behalf of the Sayang Sayang Fund beneficiaries, The Community Foundation of Singapore is very appreciative of the support received from JustCo, to raise funds for the vulnerable and showing us that there is unity in strength,” says Catherine Loh, Chief Executive Officer, The Community Foundation of Singapore

As businesses gradually recover from the pandemic, JustCo will continue to support and stand in solidarity with people who were hit by the pandemic – assisting these communities to pull through difficult times in today’s new normal.
